Quick help

Revealing and flagging

In Reveal mode, tap a covered square to reveal it. In Flag mode, tap a covered square to cycle its marker. Touch and hold cycles a covered square’s marker in either mode; the question-mark marker is optional and can be turned on in Settings. A double-tap on a revealed numbered square chords it when the adjacent flag count matches its number — but if those flags are wrong, chording can open a mine.

Zooming and panning

Pinch, or use the plus and minus buttons, to zoom the board. Drag to pan around a large board. Tap Fit board to bring the whole board back into view.

Starting a new game

Tap the central face to request a New Game; if a game is in progress or finished, the app asks for confirmation before replacing it. Choose from four difficulties: Beginner, Intermediate, Expert, and Super Expert.

Pausing, sound, and learning

The Pause button in the header hides the board and stops the timer; Resume continues the game. The Sound toggle switches effects on or off. How to Play opens the reference, and Settings > Learn to Play opens the guided tutorial. Opening a sheet parks the clock while the sheet is visible.

Saving, records, and syncing

Your game saves automatically, and a restored active game starts paused so nothing advances before you are ready. Settings > Records & Best Times shows your local records. Reset Statistics… clears statistics and best times but keeps your current board; it does not delete scores already held by Game Center. There is no cloud saved-board sync; device backups are handled separately by iOS.

Leaderboards (optional, Apple Game Center)

If you sign in to Game Center, Apple Game Center compares your fastest eligible new wins across the four difficulties — Beginner, Intermediate, Expert, and Super Expert — on Apple’s leaderboards, shown in Apple’s native Game Center interface. Leaderboards are optional: local play remains fully available without a Game Center account. Eligibility details are in the app’s How to Play.
