A Better Looking 2048 for iPhone and iPad — last updated 13 September 2026.
A Better Looking 2048 is a free sliding-tile game from the Game Pac family. It has no ads and no in-app purchases.
What the app stores on your device
Your current game, best scores and game statistics are saved in a file on your device. The saved game includes a run identifier and leaderboard eligibility information; when a run is bound to a connected player, it also stores the game-scoped Game Center player identifier for that association. These records are kept locally and may be included in a backup of your device; they are not sent to any developer server. What is submitted to Apple's Game Center service is described below. Your preferences — difficulty, the Modern or Circuit theme, sound, the facts ticker and whether you have seen the welcome message — are kept in the app's settings on your device.
Game Center leaderboards (optional)
The game offers optional Apple Game Center leaderboards. There is no separate in-app switch: when you are signed into Game Center, eligible play submits results as described below, and playing without signing in remains fully available. No developer account is required; Apple handles Game Center sign-in.
When you are signed in, eligible results are submitted to Apple together with the game mode/difficulty and your Game Center player. 2048 submits your score. Apple associates Game Center activity with your Apple Account, and your Game Center nickname, avatar and leaderboard entries can be visible to other Game Center users — see Apple — Game Center & Privacy.
A run becomes associated with the player signed in at your first successful move; simply opening the app or a fresh board binds no one. If no one is signed in at that first move, the run remains a guest run and cannot be attached to a player later, and signing in never moves a guest run or another player's run to a different account. A saved run that was already validly bound can be continued by its original player. Saved games from before Game Center support, or without valid Game Center eligibility information, stay local.
Only successfully saved eligible end results are offered to Apple: when a run ends in a loss, or when you confirm replacing the current run with a new game or difficulty. Reaching the target tile and choosing Keep Going continues the same attempt, so winning alone is not a submission point. If saving a result fails, it stays local — a later save, relaunch or reconnection does not backfill it. Apple manages forwarding of submissions it has accepted while you were offline.
Developer practices and reports
The app itself has no developer gameplay servers, no integrated analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no friends-list collection. Game Center submissions are handled by Apple's service, described above. Two channels are separate from the app itself, and both can deliver real data to the developer: a support message you choose to send, and Apple's beta-testing and analytics reports. Both are described below.
Support messages (optional)
Emailing support is entirely optional. If you write to us, we receive whatever you put in your message — including your email address — and use it to help you. Please don't send passwords or other sensitive information, and crop screenshots to what matters.
TestFlight beta data (automatic for testers)
When you use the app through TestFlight, Apple automatically collects crash and usage data and shares it with the developer. Testers cannot opt out of this collection while using the beta build. To avoid further beta usage reporting, stop using the TestFlight build; Apple may retain reports already collected. Feedback you choose to send through TestFlight — written comments and screenshots — is separate and voluntary.
TestFlight data may include your name and email address. The developer may use it to test and improve the app and may not share it with third parties. Apple's own policies govern what Apple collects and how long Apple keeps it:
App Store and iOS analytics (optional, and separate)
Separate from TestFlight's automatic data: if you opt in to sharing analytics and diagnostics with app developers in your iOS settings, Apple may share crash and usage information about the app with the developer. Apple's App Store Connect usage reports cover only users who opted in, and Apple applies aggregation and privacy protections to them. See Apple — Analytics Reports. The app contains no analytics code of its own; these are Apple's reports about Apple's platform data.
How long data is kept
Support messages and beta reports downloaded from Apple are used only to respond to you, or to fix and improve the app. They are kept only as long as necessary for that purpose and are then deleted, unless the law requires keeping them. You can ask for your support correspondence to be deleted at any time by emailing kudige@icloud.com. Copies held by Apple — in Game Center, TestFlight, App Store Connect or device backups — are controlled by Apple under its own policies.
Backups
Apple's device backup (iCloud Backup or a computer backup) may include the app's saved game and settings. Apple manages those backups and their retention under your iCloud and device settings; restoring a backup can restore your game. The developer has no access to your backups.
Deleting your data
Settings → Reset Statistics erases every best score, all career statistics and your best tile ever. Your current board is kept, including its finished or in-progress state, and your preferences — difficulty, theme, sound and facts — are not changed. Starting a New Game replaces the board, and the next run counts toward records again. Reset Statistics also makes the current run ineligible for leaderboards.
Reset Statistics is local only: it does not erase leaderboard entries already submitted to Apple Game Center, and neither does deleting the app. Apple manages its service data under its own policies — see Apple — Game Center & Privacy.
Deleting the app removes the app's remaining local data from the device; data already inside an Apple backup is governed by Apple's backup settings.
